LIT (Latinos in Tech)

LIT (Latinos or LatinX in Tech) will be starting January 18, 2023 from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Program participants must be a student in Perth Amboy in grades 8 through 12 and able to met weekly on Wednesdays. Meals will be provided, and transportation is offered, if necessary.

LIT will be a FREE eight-month long leadership, community action, computer science, and technical skills program. Scholars will meet once weekly and also have access to office hours with instructors, the PRAHD facility for “opportunity time,” a library of laptops to borrow while in the facility, and a mentor after completing certain program requirements.

By the end of the summer, Scholars will have:

  • Discovered their personal leadership style;
  • Identified and researched a community issue;
  • Learned how to make an app and a website;
  • And finally, combined those skills in a way that they feel will best help their community.

Foreclosure Presentation Course

Course Description

Helping homeowners who are experiencing financial difficulty to better understand what foreclosure may mean is the platform for the foreclosure education course. It’s designed to provide valuable information about the when, where, why, and what your next steps should be during such a stressful time. Most importantly, it defines the tools available to you if faced with the difficult decision of foreclosure. This course also prepares homeowners with information to navigate away from the potential scams they may be presented with during the foreclosure process.
